THE ICONS IN MILAN

The London Cris Contini Contemporary Gallery returns to Milan with another disruptive exhibition by the British street-artist Endless, who presents his most representative works to the general public.

ENDLESS THE ICONS IN MILAN, this is the title of the exhibition curated by Simona Gervasio which will be hosted in the spaces of Il Salotto di Milano in Corso Venezia 7 from 24 May to 30 June, during which the first catalogue of Endless’ artistic path will be launched: Endless Vol. 1 wonderful coffee table book paperback with 260 illustrated pages, presented by Prof. Pasquale Lettieri.

Endless, who in recent years has seen his notoriety grow by becoming the first street-artist to be part of the prestigious permanent collection of the Uffizi Galleries in Florence, now exhibits 22 of his most iconic works, which retrace the key themes of his artistic language.

The exhibition chronologically retraces works such as the famous "Chapel", an iconographic symbol of the sacred place of consumerism, the "Worships" - adoration - of the new iconic goddesses of fashion such as Cara Delevingne and Naomi Campbell, and "Endless Transfiguration", the representation of men and women presented to the international public on the occasion of the artist's participation in the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia as the first street artist in a national pavilion. Obviously, “Lizzy Vuitton” cannot be missing, as the iconic symbol par excellence and the artist's masterpiece.

I just take what I see in the world and reconfigure it, to give it meaning, but not in a negative way.” states Endless who, also on this occasion, is supported by the gallery owners Cristian Contini and Fulvio Granocchia and accompanied by the art critic Pasquale Lettieri, who states: “The iconic images of this Endless exhibition, marked by the rhythm of Corso Venezia, will remain, as well as the emotions that will stay in the formal and aesthetic memory of all of us. Undoubtedly, a little enthusiasm for this event filters through, strengthened by the fact that it is configured as an element of the artistic system, which a city like Milan is giving itself, in an original way, focusing on the containers that are gradually freeing themselves from the ruins and from the mists of abandonment, in a conceptual and real balance, between what is projected towards the future, in the lights of originality, and what comes from the origins of an aristocratic past, which, if only occasionally glorious, is always rich in bodies and souls.”

The curator Simona Gervasio states "The style of Endless wants to be a reinterpretation of the consumerism of this society in which the image prevails over everything, reinterpreted in a Street Art key".

La Galleria londinese Cris Contini Contemporary torna a Milano con un’altra dirompente mostra dello street-artist britannico Endless, che presenta al grande pubblico le sue opere più rappresentative.

ENDLESS THE ICONS IN MILAN, questo è il titolo della mostra curata da Simona Gervasio che verrà ospitata negli spazi de Il Salotto di Milano di Corso Venezia 7 dal 24 maggio al 30 giugno durante la quale verrà lanciato il primo catalogo del percorso artistico di Endless: Endless Vol. 1 meraviglioso coffee table book brossurato di 260 pagine illustrate, presentato dal Prof. Pasquale Lettieri.

Endless, che negli ultimi anni ha visto crescere la sua notorietà diventando il primo street-artist a far parte della prestigiosa collezione permanente delle Gallerie degli Uffizi di Firenze, espone ora 22 fra i suoi lavori più iconici, che ripercorrono i temi chiave del suo linguaggio artistico.

La mostra ripercorre in modo cronologico opere come la celebre “Chapel”, simbolo iconografico del luogo sacro del consumismo, le “Worships”- adorazione - delle nuove dee iconiche della moda come Cara Delevingne e Naomi Campbell e “Endless Transfiguration” la rappresentazione dell’uomo e della donna presentate al pubblico internazionale in occasione della partecipazione dell’artista alla 59° Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte – La Biennale di Venezia come primo street artist all’interno di un Padiglione nazionale. Ovviamente non può mancare “Lizzy Vuitton”, simbolo iconico per eccellenza e masterpiece dell’artista.

“Uso i marchi e i loghi come commento alla cultura moderna e mai come una critica. Prendo semplicemente quello che vedo nel mondo e lo riconfiguro, per dare un senso, ma non in modo negativo.” afferma Endless che anche in questa occasione viene sostenuto dai galleristi Cristian Contini e Fulvio Granocchia e accompagnato dal critico d’arte Pasquale Lettieri che afferma: “Di questa mostra di Endless resteranno le immagini iconiche scandite dal ritmo di Corso Venezia, le emozioni che a lungo rimarranno nella memoria formale ed estetica di tutti noi. Indubbiamente, filtra un po’ di entusiasmo per questo evento, rafforzato dal fatto che esso si configura come elemento del sistema artistico, che una città come Milano, si sta dando, in maniera originale, puntando sui contenitori che via via si vanno liberando dalle rovine e dalle nebbie dell’abbandono, in un saldo concettuale e reale, tra ciò che è proiettato verso il futuro, nelle luci dell’originalità e ciò che viene dall’originario di un passato aristocratico, che se solo a tratti è glorioso, sempre, ricco di corpi e di anime.”

La curatrice Simona Gervasio dichiara “Lo stile di Endless vuole essere una rivisitazione del consumismo di questa società in cui l’immagine prevale su tutto, riletta in chiave Street Art”.
