UNTETHERED is an intimate journey that explores the themes of memory, identity, and transformation. The central work sensitively addresses the universal theme of reclaiming one’s inner child, inviting the viewers to reconnect with and reawaken those long-forgotten parts of themselves. The artist’s journey becomes an act of self-reconciliation, unveiling a creativity that had been postponed.
The suspended garments evoke memory and its power to transform what has been into something entirely new. Each work emerges from a process of metamorphosis: rather than merely preserving the past, it reworks it, infusing it with fresh energy and renewed meaning.
The blue of the cyanotype on Arches paper envelops the pieces in an ethereal atmosphere, where time appears suspended. This color, symbolizing depth and infinity, hints at the possibility of reconnecting with aspects of ourselves that once seemed distant. Moreover, the imagery taps into a collective imagination rooted in youth and motherhood, transporting us into a state of suspended time where nostalgia and gentle recollections blend seamlessly with the present.
