Standing at 250cm tall, this large-scale wooden sculpture embodies the temporary wooden panels and structures commonly found throughout the streets of London, materials often used to cover abandoned buildings, construction sites, and gaps within the city’s architecture. The sculpture combines a rough, almost improvised construction with a powerful human form built from layered imagery and fragmented visual references. This contrast between raw structure and carefully constructed figure reflects the tension between chaos and identity within advertising. The “crotch grab” pose originates from the iconic 1990s Mark Wahlberg Calvin Klein advertising campaign. Endless reinterprets this familiar pose through his own visual language, transforming it into a layered exploration of masculinity, branding, defiance, allure, and consumer culture. Throughout the work, references to art history and the classical human form are blended with contemporary advertising aesthetics and Endless own style, creating a dialogue between timeless ideas of the body and the image driven culture of today. The sculpture also incorporates elements of the artist’s own body within the layered composition, giving the work qualities of a self-portrait while adding deeper themes surrounding identity, image, and personal presence. Raw, fragmented, and visually confrontational, the sculpture reflects Endless’ ongoing examination of how modern society constructs identity through media, fashion, advertising, and the urban environment.
