This striking composition expands on Endless’ ongoing exploration of consumerism, identity, and modern worship through a bold, billboard likeaesthetic. At its centre, a fractured, layered face emerges, constructed from collaged visual fragments, challenging conventional ideals of beauty. The disjointed features disrupt the notion of perfection, instead presenting identity as something manufactured, edited, and continuously redefined. The inclusion of the artist’s own eye, fixed in a direct and unflinching gaze, creates a moment of confrontation, inviting the viewer to question their role within this constructed visual culture. Radiating outward from the central figure, multiple arms, depicting the artist’s own hand extend into the viewer’s space, each gripping the signature “Chapel” bottle. These repeated gestures evoke a sense of ritual and devotion, echoing religious iconography where offerings are presented to a higher power. Here, however, the object of worship is not spiritual but commercial. Endless draws a parallel between faith and consumerism, suggesting that luxury brands have become the modern day deities of contemporary society. The composition’s symmetry and multiplicity reinforce this message, transforming the act of holding the bottle into a collective, almost ceremonial experience. The “Chapel” motif-derived from the iconic perfume silhouette, continues to function as a metaphor for society’s reverence for branding, where desire is manufactured and perpetuated through imagery. Visually, the work balances high gloss appeal with raw, distressed textures. Clean, vibrant blues contrast against scratched surfaces, layered collage, and gestural marks, creating tension between aspiration and reality. This interplay reflects the seductive yet artificial nature of advertising, where polished surfaces often conceal deeper complexities.
