"We are Plastic" arose from the need to poetically stimulate the collective imagination around environmental emergencies relating to sustainability, and to raise awareness of the recycling of single-use plastic. The project formed part of the RO Plastic Prize in Milan 2020, as "Message in a Bottle" - Parma Capital of Culture in 2021, and now returns for the 59th Venice Biennale with WITHout esSENZA. The bottle is transformed from its form as a container into an object rich in symbolism that forms the installation. Through the Yayoi Kusama-style "obliteration" intervention, this artistic venture generates a new identity for the object. The viewer opens the curtain of bottles and, crossing the threshold, enters into a suspended state and begins his metamorphosis. The opposites WITH - SENZA linger in the mind, cause confusion and provoke self-reflection, both as an individual and as an individual that is part of an society that is evolving, changing, transforming.
