Jeff Robb is best known for his lenticular photographic work focusing on the female nude and abstract forms in space, which he makes in series. The artist devotes himself to the feminine form, in particular to the countless permutations of body / composition, facial expression and light, emphasised by the nakedness or semi-nakedness of the subjects.
His suspended female nudes emerge from the bottom as marble sculptures, both full-length and non-full-length. Classical angels and maenads are clearly evoked in these figures, with a reference to the shadows and images of surrealist drama. The female figures "swim" in the surrounding ethereal and sensual environment, like goddesses, but closer to the real world.
