MICRO MACRO, curated by Sandra Sanson and Pasquale Lettieri, presents the latest project by Venetian artist Emanuele Sari, who brings together the heritage of mosaic tradition with contemporary visual language. The exhibition is promoted by the City of Treviso, the Civic Museums, Banca Prealpi SanBiagio – Gruppo Cassa Centrale, and Cris Contini Contemporary, in collaboration with the Mazzotti Foundation.
Using fine Venetian materials—Murano murrine, smalti, and Orsoni gold leaf—Sari employs a direct mosaic technique that highlights the manual gesture, transforming each tessera into a vibrant, dynamic element. The exhibition explores the relationship between micro and macro: the detail and the whole, the fragment and the complete image.
The exhibition opens with a work inspired by the film Joker, the show’s visual signature, followed by a reconstruction of the artist’s studio and a video illustrating his creative process. At its conceptual core is the theme of the halo, reinterpreted through contemporary pop icons such as Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Deadpool and Harley Quinn—creating a dialogue between the sacred and the modern.
The final section contrasts animation-inspired graphic works with highly expressive mosaic portraits, and concludes with a participatory area where visitors can compose their own small mosaic.
MICRO MACRO reinforces Casa Robegan’s role as a meeting point between tradition, craftsmanship and contemporary vision, offering the public an immersive and accessible experience.
