RORSCHACH FLOWER: @META BIENNALE - ART GATE VR

Cris Contini Contemporary parteciperà alla prima Meta Biennale organizzata dalla piattaforma Art Gate VR con una mostra dedicata al lavoro del fotografo britannico Jeff Robb e alla sua serie Rorschach Flower, realizzata per Liminal Projects.

La prima nel suo genere, la Meta Biennale si svolgerà dal 18 novembre al 19 dicembre 2021 in un metaverso virtuale, negli spazi di galleria interconnessi situati in realtà virtuale sulla piattaforma Art Gate.

In questa occasione, all’interno della galleria virtuale Cris Contini Contemporary, i visitatori potranno ammirare le suggestive creazioni di Jeff Robb.

La serie si compone di foto di surreali tulipani in 3D che, scolpiti digitalmente, danno vita a figure astratte simmetriche. Evocando il lavoro di Hermann Rorschach, i fiori di Jeff Robb agiscono sul subconscio di chi li guarda come le famose macchie di inchiostro dello psichiatra svizzero, incitando la mente a proiettare sulle immagini le proprie pulsioni, paure, voluttà recondite. I petali possono apparire come pieghe in drappi oppure suggerire movimenti a cascata, prendere il volo in grandi ali o accendersi in fiamme. Tra gli stami e pistilli al centro del fiore si possono scorgere ballerini o carcasse, pipistrelli, farfalle o creature ultraterrene. 

Superando la barriera tra pittura, fotografia e scultura, le opere di Jeff Robb avvolgono lo spettatore, trasportandolo in un mondo inesplorato di colore e bellezza, sensualità e vertigine.

La mostra Rorschach Flower presso la Meta Biennale di Art Gate VR prenderà il via il 18 novembre 2021.

Cris Contini Contemporary will participate in the first Meta Biennale organized by the Art Gate VR platform with an exhibition dedicated to the work of the British photographer Jeff Robb and his Rorschach Flower series, created for Liminal Projects.

The first of its kind, the Meta Biennale will take place from 18 November to 19 December 2021 in a virtual metaverse, in the interconnected gallery spaces located in virtual reality on the Art Gate platform.

On this occasion, inside the Cris Contini Contemporary virtual gallery, visitors will be able to admire the evocative creations of Jeff Robb.

The series consists of photos of surreal 3D tulips which, digitally sculpted, give life to symmetrical abstract figures. Evoking the work of Hermann Rorschach, Jeff Robb's flowers act on the subconscious of those who look at them like the famous ink stains of the Swiss psychiatrist, inciting the mind to project on the images its own impulses, fears, hidden voluptuousness.

The petals can appear as folds in drapes or suggest cascading movements, take flight in large wings or ignite in flames. Among the stamens and pistils in the centre of the flower you can see dancers or carcasses, bats, butterflies or otherworldly creatures.

Overcoming the barrier between painting, photography and sculpture, Jeff Robb's works envelop the viewer, transporting him to an unexplored world of colour and beauty, sensuality and vertigo.

The Rorschach Flower exhibition at the Meta Biennale of Art Gate VR will kick off on November 18, 2021.
