"I am truly happy that the owners and curators of this year’s modern art exhibition NordArt (2023) have chosen a unique project, namely the presentation of the works of the Polish sculptor Michał Jackowski. Last year at NordArt 2022, visitors to the Polish Pavilion "Above Borders” were already able to familiarise themselves with the work of Michał Jackowski. They were so impressed that Michał Jackowski was awarded the audience prize. I am all the more pleased that the art-loving public from all over the world will once again have the opportunity to face the extraordinary Polish art embodied by Michał Jackowski.
This year we get to see completely new works by Michał Jackowski. They were created especially for this year’s NortArt. The concept of the pavilion, where Michał Jackowski’s sculptures will be exhibited, is also unique - visitors will feel as if they are entering a temple of modern Polish art. It is an art that allows us to reflect on ourselves. It is an art that moves us and demands something of us. It is an art that occasionally teaches us lessons. It is an art that, not least, asks us difficult questions and does not prevent us from getting into a dilemma. The combination of the classical and the modern, which we find in the works of Michal Jackowski, is juxtaposed with the outside world and thus we are given the opportu- nity to look into our own temple: into ourselves."

"The presentation of the sculptures created by Michał Jackowski, the winner of the Audience Award at NordArt 2022, is prepared under the title “Antique Games” and exhibited in his individual Pavilion, designed especially for NordArt 2023. It is an attempt to visually describe the contemporary culture, dominated by consumerism (or consumptionism), related to the utilitarian approach towards the world and hedonistic materialism, which, in turn, results in nihilism following slowly in their footsteps. The works presented at NordArt 2023 fall within the genre of postmodernist game (or play) of the sculptor with both ancient forms, as well as those borrowed from 20th-century popular culture around the world. They resemble a morality play, embedded in an artistic form, through which the artist is asking questions about universal values and principles constituting the basic foundation of discovering the truth about a human being. The artist draws the viewer into a search for the road to morality, understood as a formal set of norms and laws, as well as emphasizes the significance of the autonomy of the human being/person as an axiological value."

"Sono davvero felice che i proprietari e i curatori della mostra d'arte moderna NordArt (2023) di quest'anno abbiano scelto un progetto unico, ovvero la presentazione delle opere dello scultore polacco Michał Jackowski. L'anno scorso, in occasione di NordArt 2022, i visitatori del padiglione polacco "Above Borders" hanno potuto conoscere l'opera di Michał Jackowski. Sono rimasti così colpiti che Michał Jackowski ha ricevuto il premio del pubblico. Sono ancora più felice che il pubblico amante dell'arte di tutto il mondo abbia ancora una volta l'opportunità di confrontarsi con la straordinaria arte polacca incarnata da Michał Jackowski.
Quest'anno potremo vedere opere completamente nuove di Michał Jackowski. Sono state create appositamente per NortArt di quest'anno. Anche il concetto del padiglione, dove saranno esposte le sculture di Michał Jackowski, è unico: i visitatori avranno la sensazione di entrare in un tempio dell'arte polacca moderna. È un'arte che ci permette di riflettere su noi stessi. È un'arte che ci commuove e ci fa delle domande. È un'arte che a volte ci insegna delle lezioni. È un'arte che, non da ultimo, ci pone domande difficili e ci conduce ad un dilemma. La combinazione di classico e moderno, che troviamo nelle opere di Michal Jackowski, è giustapposta al mondo esterno e ci dà l'opportunità di guardare nel nostro tempio: in noi stessi".

"La presentazione delle sculture create da Michał Jackowski, vincitore del Premio del Pubblico a NordArt 2022, è preparata con il titolo "Giochi antichi" ed esposta nel suo Padiglione individuale, progettato appositamente per NordArt 2023. Si tratta di un tentativo di descrivere visivamente la cultura contemporanea, dominata dal consumismo, legata all'approccio utilitaristico verso il mondo e al materialismo edonistico, che, a sua volta, sfocia nel nichilismo che ne segue lentamente le orme. Le opere presentate a NordArt 2023 rientrano nel genere del gioco postmoderno dello scultore con forme antiche e con forme prese in prestito dalla cultura popolare del XX secolo in tutto il mondo. Assomigliano a un gioco morale, incorporato in una forma artistica, attraverso il quale l'artista si interroga su valori e principi universali che costituiscono il fondamento di base per scoprire la verità su un essere umano. L'artista trascina lo spettatore alla ricerca della strada della moralità, intesa come insieme formale di norme e leggi, e sottolinea il significato dell'autonomia dell'essere umano/persona come valore assiologico".
