Dal 4 giugno al 10 luglio, nella sede del Castello Brown di Portofino, sarà esposta al pubblico la bipersonale che prende il titolo di Corrispondenze e che vede protagonisti gli artisti, Riccardo Guarneri, classe 1933 e Gioni David Parra, classe 1962. Corrispondenze è curata dallo storico dell’arte Alberto Dambruoso che ha scelto questo titolo e ha deciso di far dialogare i due artisti, entrambi toscani, sia per il lungo rapporto di reciproca amicizia che li lega, sia per i numerosi richiami che si possono notare tra i lavori, se pur molto differenti, dei due protagonisti. All’interno del Castello Brown, tra gli anni ’70 e ’90, il gallerista Daniele Crippa si è occupato dell’allestimento di mostre d’arte rimaste nella storia, dove tra i nomi più illustri figurano Arman, Afro, Capogrossi, Casorati, Dova, Festa, Gilardi, Manzoni, Mitoraj, Parmiggiani, Pomodoro, Rotella, Scanavino, Schifano, Vedova e molti altri. Con la precedente mostra dell’estate 2021, dedicata a Elio Marchegiani, si è dato il via alla ripresa delle mostre al castello, con un calendario rilanciato dallo stesso Daniele Crippa.
Nel testo curatoriale, Dambruoso spiega: “Riccardo Guarneri e Gioni David Parra sono due artisti di generazioni diverse (di fatto Parra potrebbe essere un allievo di Guarneri), con percorsi differenti e soprattutto operanti in due ambiti totalmente diversi: il primo è un pittore e il secondo uno scultore con un forte senso della materia e del colore. Se questi sono i punti che differenziano i due artisti, molti di più però, sono quelli che, al contrario, li pongono su di un piano di assoluta consonanza. In primis, comune per non dire identico, è l’approccio alla ricerca artistica, intesa da parte di entrambi quale indagine analitica delle componenti strutturali, segniche, materiche e cromatiche dell’opera d’arte. Lo studio sugli effetti luministici sulla tela del primo e sul marmo del secondo, è un altro dato in comune, come anche il ricorso in generale a elementi costruttivi di ordine geometrico. D’altronde sia Guarneri sia Parra sono toscani e il disegno e la geometria in quella regione sono notoriamente di casa, costituendo una sorta di DNA artistico presente in pressoché tutti gli artisti nati nella terra di Masaccio, di Piero, del Brunelleschi, del Donatello e di Paolo Uccello. Nella mostra ordinata presso il Castello di Portofino, il dialogo instaurato tra i due artisti non poteva quindi che essere all’insegna delle reciproche corrispondenze.”

From June 4th to July 10th, in the Castello Brown headquarters in Portofino, the two-person staff entitled Corrispondenze will be exhibited to the public, featuring the artists, Riccardo Guarneri, born in 1933 and Gioni David Parra, born in 1962. Corrispondenze is curated by the art historian Alberto Dambruoso who chose this title and decided to make the two artists, both Tuscan, dialogue, both for the long relationship of mutual friendship that binds them, and for the numerous references that can be seen among the works, although very different, of the two protagonists. Inside the Brown Castle, between the 70s and 90s, the gallery owner Daniele Crippa took care of the preparation of art exhibitions that have remained in history, where among the most illustrious names are Arman, Afro, Capogrossi, Casorati, Dova, Festa, Gilardi, Manzoni, Mitoraj, Parmiggiani, Pomodoro, Rotella, Scanavino, Schifano, Vedova and many others. With the previous summer 2021 exhibition, dedicated to Elio Marchegiani, the resumption of exhibitions at the castle was started, with a calendar relaunched by Daniele Crippa himself.
In the curatorial text, Dambruoso explains: "Riccardo Guarneri and Gioni David Parra are two artists of different generations (in fact Parra could be a pupil of Guarneri), with different paths and above all operating in two totally different fields: the first is a painter and the second a sculptor with a strong sense of matter and color. If these are the points that differentiate the two artists, many more, however, are those that, on the contrary, place them on a plane of absolute consonance. First of all, common, if not identical, is the approach to artistic research, understood by both as an analytical investigation of the structural, sign, material and chromatic components of the work of art. The study on the luministic effects on the canvas of the first and on the marble of the second is another fact in common, as well as the general use of constructive elements of a geometric order. On the other hand, both Guarneri and Parra are Tuscan and drawing and geometry in that region are notoriously at home, constituting a sort of artistic DNA present in almost all the artists born in the land of Masaccio, Piero, Brunelleschi, Donatello and Paolo Uccello. In the exhibition ordered at the Castle of Portofino, the dialogue established between the two artists could therefore only be based on reciprocal correspondences."
