The Civic Museums of Treviso will present the anthological exhibition at the Luigi Bailo Museum

FERRUCCIO GARD. THE KINETIC OF COLOR.

PROGRAMMED AND OPTICAL ART 1969-2021.

The event is proposed as an intense and vital dialogue with the collections of the prestigious Museum of the Twentieth Century of Treviso and the art of Ferruccio Gard, one of the protagonists of the Optical-Constructivist line of Italian painting, who will exhibit a selection from his production, from the first kinetic works of 1969 up to the last paintings in black, white and grey and the pure new abstract-kinetic sculptures in plexiglass.

Ferruccio Gard, who presented his works in seven editions of the Venice Biennale and at the Rome Quadriennale in 1986, is recognized as one of the masters and precursors of the international optical-kinetic research, which in recent years have had an important revival of critics and audiences.

"With this exhibition an original connection is proposed between the collections Museum of the twentieth century of the Treviso and the art of Gard, a protagonist of Italian painting, a recognized master and precursor of the international optical-kinetic research", underlines the Councilor for Cultural Heritage and Tourism of the Municipality of Treviso, Lavinia Colonna Preti. Gard boasts participations in seven editions of the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadriennale. A part of his artistic production will be exhibited at the Bailo, which will compose a vital comparison with the sculptures of Arturo Martini and other masterpieces of the '900.

Gard's work, characterized by a weaving of geometries and chromatic intersections, fits fully into that noble line of Italian and international art that starts from Futurism (and in particular from Giacomo Balla) where research on abstract art and the geometrization of painting were combined with the first kinetic experiences.

The vibration of Gard's painting, its illusive depths and its compositional rigor will thus be able to compose an intense and vital comparison with the sculptures of Arturo Martini and the other 20th century masterpieces of the collection, in an interesting and intense dialogue based on color, geometry and the luminous pulsation of its dynamic weaves.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with  Web Art mostre, Cris Contini Contemporary e Arte Fiera Dolomiti.
