For the fourth time, the artists from Val Gardena will organize an art exhibition in the public spaces of Val Gardena, in Ortisei and in the neighboring countries of Santa Caterina and Selva Gardena, on the occasion of the biennial IDEA UNIKA. There will be 11 works created by 17 artists, works that demonstrate the excellence in woodworking of sculptors and painters from Val Gardena. IDEA UNIKA will be inaugurated on July 16th at 6pm in Stetteneck Square in the center of Ortisei and will end on September 17th 2021.
"The man and the mountain. The close relationship between these two entities guides the work of Wilhelm Senoner. There is a secret force that binds human beings to the titanic mountain forms and the artist expresses it with the energy of structures cut vigorously. Excavated, molded and in some cases left natural. Realities that merge into a single thinking entity, living the same resources and respecting each other. Wood, bronze or stone sculptures. It doesn’t matter: it’s all about respect, the feelings you feel in front of these soaring monoliths. Like the peaks of the Dolomites, with their signs traced by the passage of millennia. Senoner also intervenes with color, through an archaic gesture not dictated by the desire to represent but trying to be that ancient and powerful matter. Meditating on the shape, he almost identified with his "thinker" (bronze statue) who, immersed in the dynamism of the sculptural complex, became one with the landscape."
Gli artisti gardenesi di UNIKA organizzeranno per la quarta volta una mostra d’arte negli spazi pubblici della Val Gardena, ad Ortisei e nei paesi vicini di Santa Caterina e Selva Gardena, in occasione della biennale IDEA UNIKA. Verranno esposte 11 opere create da 17 artisti, opere che dimostrano l’eccellenza nella lavorazione del legno di scultori e pittori gardenesi. IDEA UNIKA verrà inaugurata il 16 Luglio alle ore 18 in piazza Stetteneck nel centro di Ortisei e terminerà il 17 Settembre 2021.
“L’uomo e la montagna. Il rapporto stretto tra queste due entità guida il lavoro di Wilhelm Senoner. C’è una forza segreta che lega gli esseri umani alle titaniche forme montuose e l’artista la esprime con l’energia di strutture tagliate vigorosamente. Scavate, modellate e lasciate in certi casi al naturale. Realtà che si fondono in un’unica entità pensante, vivendo delle stesse risorse e rispettandosi. Sculture di legno, bronzo o pietra. Non importa: conta solo il rispetto, le sensazioni provate davanti a questi monoliti svettanti. Come le cime dolomitiche, con i loro segni tracciati dal passare dei millenni. Senoner interviene anche con il colore, attraverso una gestualità arcaica non dettata dalla voglia di rappresentare ma cercando di essere quella materia tanto antica e potente. Meditando così sulla forma, quasi immedesimandosi in quel suo “pensatore” (statua in bronzo) che immerso nella dinamicità del complesso scultoreo diviene tutt’uno col paesaggio.”
