The vicissitudes of this historical period have interfered on some certainties of our existence. We found ourselves forced to recalibrate the perception of distances, to reconsider the specific weight of each of our individual relationships, and the abstract concept of boundary has returned to being concrete in a way that none of us have ever experienced.
From the conviction that art must be able to read the surrounding reality in its depths and give back a vision that is able to stimulate emotions and reflections, MARGINALIA is born.
This project sees Fabio Imperiale go around Italy, weaving a plot that, through the collected testimonies, will ideally go to sew, investigating, that internal fraying to which we have all been subjected. From region to region, twenty women will host the artist in a series of home art residences, making him from time to time silent observer of their simple daily occurrence, as well as listener participating in their history, to the extent that every single knowledge will be able to tell it.

Le vicissitudini di questo periodo storico hanno interferito su alcune certezze del nostro esistere. Ci siamo ritrovati costretti a ricalibrare la percezione delle distanze, a riconsiderare il peso specifico di ogni nostra singola relazione e il concetto astratto di confine è tornato ad essere concreto in un modo che nessuno di noi ha mai avuto modo di sperimentare.
Dalla convinzione che l’arte debba essere in grado di leggere la realtà circostante nel suo profondo e restituirne una visione che sia in grado di stimolare emozioni e riflessioni, nasce MARGINALIA.
Questo progetto vede Fabio Imperiale girare tutta l’Italia, tessendo una trama che, attraverso le testimonianze raccolte, andrà idealmente a ricucire, indagandola, quella sfilacciatura interiore a cui noi tutti siamo stati sottoposti. Di regione in regione, venti donne ospiteranno l'artista in una serie di residenze artistiche casalinghe, rendendolo di volta in volta osservatore silenzioso del loro semplice accadere quotidiano, nonché ascoltatore partecipe della loro storia, nella misura in cui ogni singola conoscenza sarà in grado di raccontarla.
