After the cancellation of the Fuorisalone, Milan restarts with Milano Design City, from 28th September to 10th October: two weeks of events dedicated to the world of design including Art & Design, a project that unites two worlds: design and art.

ART & DESIGN

"There must not be an art detached from life: beautiful things to see and bad things to use".

This famous quote by Bruno Munari defines the meaning and purpose of "Art & Design", the Fuorisalone 2020 project by Andrea Castrignano.

The protagonists of this unprecedented path, which will put in relation art, material and function in an original key, are eleven artists accredited by critics and the contemporary art market, and elevenpartner companies that,as newpatrons, will consolidatetheir role as innovators in the field of design and interior design.

To give shape to this idea, each partner company has been associated with an artist who, in some cases using the same materials that characterize their production, and following their own inspirations and inclinations, will present a work of art to interpret its essence, product or philosophy in an alchemy between sense and matter.

Among the artists, all chosen high-level professionals with important exhibitions behind them, thanks also to the work of renowned galleries that seriously support their artistic career, there is also the winner of the prestigious Franco Cuomo International Award Michelangelo Galliani.

From the collaboration between Michelangelo Galliani and Mitsubishi Electric, has born the work entitled The Garden / Cut, made of white Carrara marble, stainless steel, brass and gold leaf. «The Garden / Cut - explains the artist - is a work about the circularity of life, which dies and regenerates itself every time through the seasons. Spring advances exploding into summer, while autumn is already upon us and leads us under the snows of winter. The earth welcomes the death of all that has lived and transforms it by reviving it in new forms. Different. I thought about the flowering of Japanese cherry trees, turning those petals into snowflakes, in a hypothetical garden of life. It is a contemporary icon ».

As part of the project, on Wednesday 7 October, at 6.30 pm, Michelangelo Galliani will participate, together with the gallerists Cristian Contini and Fulvio Granocchia (Cris Contini Contemporary), to the talk organized by Studio Castrignano in Milan to tell the birth and development of Collaboration between the company Mitsubishi Electric, the artist and Andrea Castrignano himself who, at the same time, continued his research as a product designer, designing new products with the companies involved.
The talk will be broadcast live on Andrea Castrignano's Facebook and Instagram accounts (IG: @andreacastrignano_official, FB: @OfficialAndreaCastrignano, Hashtag: #ArtAndDesign - #MilanoDesignCity).

 ...
