Copyright The Artist
This work belongs to the series Arazzi Animalier, series in which animal and human worlds are interpenetrated with clear symbolic references. We see here a tattooed and athletic man with a rhinoceros head. Tattoos refer to spirituality and Buddhism, therefore symbols of peace and serenity, as opposed to the head of the rhinoceros, an animal that instead represents aggressiveness and strength. The artist wants to represent young people nowadays who are tattooed for mere aesthetic pleasure without considering the meaning of what has been represented on their bodies, which often does not correspond to their inner reality.
