This diptych is composed like a portal, on one side we see a fist hitting the ground and, on the other, the Earth splashing out with a scream. The Earth has the face of a man, and the fist breaks under the pressure of its own violence, because all violence is doomed to self-destruction, and the effects of the damage we are doing to nature will affect all human beings. The artist reflects on our relationship with nature, if we understand the scope of our action and if we can give it a human face, since by destroying it we harm ourselves.
The sculpture was created in 2017 specifically for the Florence Biennale, whose theme was "Earth, sustainability and creativity".
