This artwork is part of Endless’ latest series, based on ‘THE ENDLESS TRANSFIGURATION’ - an installation on show at La Biennale Di Venezia 2022, in The San Marino Republic national pavilion. The exhibition, titled – Postumano Metamorfico, exhibits work from eight artists, with Endless making history as the first street-artist to exhibit within La Biennale.
Through The Endless Transfiguration, Endless explores the complexities within nature and mankind’s coexistence, investigating the dynamics through which human technological development interferes with the natural world. The futuristic, collaged portrait includes digitally designed elements and photography by the artist, constructed to form a human-like figure, with the composition lending itself to that of a magazine cover. The multiple hand symbols (the artist’s hands) reference continuous development with human communication, with the telephone box and iPhones showing the contrast over time. A block of flats is collaged into the face and body, referencing modern construction and the habitats in which modern-man resides. The climbing ivy throughout the figure symbolises nature’s resistance, attempting to reclaim its importance whilst dualling with exponential human technological development. To create this artwork, Endless has used spray, acrylic and oil-based paints, digital design on paper and a varnish sealant.
